Sanlo offers several end fittings to terminate your custom cable assembly. Our standard line of fittings are comparable to most offerings on the market. We also have several custom options available, or contact one of our engineers for assistance in designing your own fitting.
Thimbles can be installed inside of a loop and are used to protect the bearing surface where the cable would mount to a mating part. Our commercial grade thimbles, commonly referred to as G411 thimbles, are manufactured to meet the dimensional requirements of FF-T-276B, Type II. We also carry a full line of thimbles to meet the AN100 specification.
AN100 Thimbles can be installed inside of a loop and are used to protect the bearing surface where the cable would mount to a mating part. Our commercial grade thimbles, commonly referred to as G411 thimbles, are manufactured to meet the dimensional requirements of FF-T-276B, Type II. We also carry a full line of thimbles to meet the AN100 specification.
Compression sleeves are one of the most traditional ways to terminate a cable assembly. All of our sleeves are designed around the MS51844 specification. When properly installed, either by machine press or with a hand tool, the resulting loop will achieve the full breaking strength of the cable. We also sell compression sleeves that can be certified tot he MS51844 specification.
Sanlo's stamped eye terminals are a great way to mount your customer cable assembly. They are designed with an offset head to mount to any flat surface. Pinholes are designed around standard fastener sizes so you can use these with a any bolt, screw, or rivet. When machine pressed, these terminals will typically hold 75-80% of the cables breaking strength.
Sanlo plain ball fittings are a commercial version of the traditional BACT14B and NAS494 series. These can be used anytime you need to mate your assembly to a clevis or other fitting that may swivel. We use a hydroforming process to achieve the maximum holding strength. This leaves these fittings as a perfect sphere with the after swage diameter noted in column B(s). Expected holding strength for these fittings is 60% of the breaking strenth.
Our single shank balls ends are a commercial version of the traditional MS20664 series. Similar to our plain ball fittings, they allow the cable to rotate when attached to a clevis or strap fork. The addition of the shank protects the cable and also increases the holding strength. The ball shanks will achieve 80% or more of the breaking strength when applied with our hydroforming process.
Sanlo stops are one of the most economical ways to terminate a cable assembly. We can swage or press these to the cable and they will typically achieve 75-80% of the breaking strength of the cable. The aluminum and copper versions of these can also be pressed in the field by using a hand tool. These stops are offered in a variety of materials to meet your requirements.
Sanlo threaded terminals are unique way to essentially attach a bolt to the end of the cable. These can be used to mount an assembly through a mating part and/or to allow you to tension the cable assembly after installation. All of our threaded terminals are designed so that the full breaking strength of the cable is achieved when properly installed. These terminals will most often be pressed with a "hex" die so that you have wrench flats to help with installation.
